While repairing sails and making boat covers at North Sails Oregon, Luke learned to sew industrial-grade fabrics and discovered the loft’s scrap bin — his first source of material for crafting bags. As a new mother, Mister’s Ok founder quickly took it upon herself to create natural candles three years ago after finding out about the highly-concentrated toxins in our everyday conventional candles. By combining 100% soy wax with a wooden cedar wick and natural essential oils, their candles are able to facilitate cleaning burning at home compared to the petroleum by-product in retail candles.
